No upload · No watermark · No minute quotas

Generate an SRT file from any video — free

Drop a video, get a properly formatted .srt file — free, unlimited, no signup, and the video never uploads. Cues follow subtitle conventions (≤38 characters per line, max 2 lines, minimum 0.83s duration), so the file ingests cleanly in YouTube Studio, VLC, Premiere and CapCut.

How it works

  1. 1 Drop your video above.
  2. 2 Whisper transcribes it locally — nothing uploads.
  3. 3 Fix any misheard words in the transcript panel.
  4. 4 Download the .srt (or .vtt) file.

Frequently asked questions

Is SRT export really free and unlimited?

Yes — unlimited videos, unlimited downloads, no watermark inside the file, no signup. Some competitors gate this specific feature: VEED's free tier, for example, generates subtitles but does not let you download the SRT. We treat the subtitle file as goodwill, not a hostage.

Will the SRT work in YouTube / VLC / Premiere?

Yes. Cues are written to spec — sequential numbering, HH:MM:SS,mmm timestamps, ≤2 lines of ≤38 characters, minimum duration 0.83 seconds — and validated against YouTube Studio, VLC and CapCut ingestion. If a player rejects the file, that's a bug we want to hear about.

How accurate are the timestamps?

Whisper produces word-level timestamps (within roughly ±120ms on clean speech), and cue boundaries are placed on natural phrase breaks rather than mid-word. You can nudge any cue boundary in the editor before exporting.

Can I edit the transcript before downloading?

Yes — the full basic word editor is free: inline correction, merge/split cues, casing toggle, timing nudge. Fixing five errors in a one-minute clip typically takes under a minute.

Can I get a plain-text transcript instead?

Yes — copy the transcript as plain text from the editor, or download SRT/VTT if you need timing. Both are free.
